TOOTH EXTRACTION FOR OPTIMAL ORAL HEALTH
Tooth extraction can sometimes be the best solution for maintaining overall oral health, especially in cases of severe decay, damage, or overcrowding. At Omnia Dental, we handle extractions with care and precision, focusing on making the experience as comfortable as possible. Extractions can relieve pain, prevent infection, and create space for proper alignment when planning orthodontic treatments.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN GETTING AN EXTRACTION
First Appointment: During your first appointment, we will gather a complete medical history and details about any medications you are currently taking. Depending on how many teeth need to be removed, you may need to stop taking certain medications or start new ones in the days leading up to the procedure.
MAKING YOU FEEL AT EASE
To ensure you are comfortable and pain-free during the procedure, a local anaesthetic will be administered to numb the area. This helps prevent any discomfort while we perform the extraction.

EXTRACTION PROCEDURE
Before starting, an X-ray of the tooth will be taken. This allows us to assess the curve and angle of the tooth's root. Once the area is numbed, we will begin the extraction. If the tooth is hidden behind bone or gum tissue, we may need to remove some of the bone or cut away the gum. In some cases, the tooth may need to be removed in pieces.
AFTERCARE
The local anaesthetic should wear off within a few hours. After a standard extraction, any discomfort can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Your dentist will provide additional aftercare instructions based on your individual situation.
